Taken from an ancient slab in Northern Ireland this pictish knot, also found in the Kells and Lindisfarne manuscripts is composed of one line, it forms a anti clockwise pattern symmetrically balanced North to South, East to West. Forming a cross to protect from evil interwoven from one line which represents a eternity, fidelity, and unity to a thought, person, or idea. Also shown in Celtic Art and Methods of Construction by George Bain, a good source of reference for the Celtic artist.
