Dating back more than 400 years, this lover's brooch is said to have been given to Lord Darcy by Mary Queen of Scots. The intertwined hearts with a crown above suggest love, loyalty and friendship. This is the Scottish equivalent to the Irish Claddagh ring. This is a copy of a brooch held within my family for more than 150 years; it was lost and carved from a photograph in 1996.
